Gabe Serafini, Bass Instructor

Gabe Serafini began guitar at five years of age, and like many bass players switched to bass when he was 13. He played in jazz, rock, funk, electronic bands as a teenager. He became enamored by jazz when he was 17 and decided to pursue it full-time. He studied in his home town of Chicago for six years with a local studio bassist and two more years with a local jazz bassist, who taught him jazz theory and harmony.

At the age of 18 was accepted into prestigious Studio Music and Jazz program at The University of Miami. He also has much experience playing Latin music studying and playing in Perugia, Italy with Oscar Stagnaro, the bassist for the Grammy Award winning Latin artist Paquito D’Rivera.

Currently, Gabe is continuing his studies at The University of Denver Lamont School of Music under Ken Walker, a professional jazz bassist in Denver.
