RecordingWe are starting to make major changes in Denver School of Music’s Student Teaching Program. If you are unfamiliar with this program, it was started in 2004 where DSoM teachers would go into schools and teach students how to teach each other.
We now have a program, where our students to teach guitar lessons in Denver to under privileged kids.
We have found that many students have a huge jump in learning when they teach once a month for around four months. They learn valuable problem solving techniques as well as confidence from helping others less fortunate.
Our goal by 2011 is to have a fully operational student teaching program for guitar, drums, bass, piano and vocals.
Here’s how the program works: We have student teaching days on the first Sunday of each month. Students that have been taking lessons at the school and have finished level two of the technique book and the entire beginner speed program.
If you or anyone in your family would benefit from teaching guitar one Sunday a month then please email us, you don’t have to be a student and it would help make another teen that’s less fortunates future.
